Cash Flow Issues with In-House Billing

Studies have shown that outsourcing print and mail needs can save businesses both time and money.  Businesses that choose to manage their own printing services could run into issues with cash flow.

In an article entitled, “In House or Outsourced Medical Billing: Which Model is Right for your Medical Practice?”, David George discusses the pros and cons of both in-house and outsourced billing models.  According to George, “Approximately one third of independent health care practices utilizing an in house medical billing model experience cash flow issues ranging from periodic to persistent. The degree of action required by a provider to resolve his/her cash flow issues may range from a simple adjustment (adding staffing hours) to a complete overhaul (replacing staff or switching to an outsourced medical billing model).”

If your business currently handles your print and mail needs in-house, you have the ability to easily monitor the performance of the model to determine if it’s actually the right choice for your business.  If the negatives outweigh the positives, it’s time to consider partnering with a professional print and mail company.
