Marketing to the Customers You Already Have

While it’s extremely important to market to the public and find new customers, you definitely don’t want to forget about the customers you already have.

In Chapter 2 of the book entitled, “Direct Marketing: Strategy, Planning, Execution,” Edward Nash talks about the importance of “repeat customers”.  According to Nash, “The repeat customers, who produce most of any company’s sales and profits, should get priority.  Avoiding the loss of one customer is more profitable than gaining three new ones.”

With a direct mail marketing campaign, you can market to both new customers and old ones.  Try including special discounts and coupons in your statement printing and invoice printing.  Then, send out postcards or card mailers to entice others to try your product or service.

How Printing More Can Save You Money

How can you save money on printing services?  The first step is to find a knowledgeable and dependable lettershop service.  But after that, what else can you do to make the most of your printing budget?

In a blog entitled, “How to Save on Your Brochure Printing Services” on The Commercial Printing Site, the author gives the reader some great ideas on how to save money on your next brochure printing job.  According to the author, by ordering more copies you will actually be able to save money.  He says, “When you double the number of copies that you order, offset printers do not charge you double the amount. In fact, you’ll see that there is a significant amount of money you save, as more hard copies of their materials.”

This advice works with any type of printing job.  Whether you’re ordering statement printing, invoice printing, collection notices, or any other type of marketing material, by printing larger quantities, you’ll be able to save money in the long run.

Archiving Services for Print & Mail

When outsourcing your business’ print and mail needs you will need to decide if you want your information to be archived.  Below are three different types of archiving services you can choose from and how they are beneficial.

On-line Archiving

The on-line document access system allows you to retrieve electronic copies of printed materials.  This service provides search capabilities based on criteria you specify, and enables you to download copies of documents in the Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF).

The Initial Programming/Set-up Fee Includes:

  • Reproduction of client statement/invoice
  • Establish Web link to our server
  • Creation of User Profile (single Login and Password)
  • Creation of Customer Specific Indexing Requirements

Other fees you may encounter include:

  • Custom Programming (Additional user Logins and Passwords, Customized Level of Authorization)
  • Monthly Maintenance Fee (Includes unlimited on-line viewing)
  • Load Fee Per Page

CD Archiving

CD archiving is an additional option to on-line archiving, or may be used in conjunction with the on-line archiving service.  We can store a predetermined amount of statements on-line for viewing until a pre-established archive time period expires.  At that point, customers have the option of archiving their data on a CD-ROM for permanent long term storage, or the on-line data may be purged from the Web server entirely.

Fees you may encounter include:

  • Initial Programming/Set-up
  • Each CD

PDF Archiving

We will create a PDF containing all printed records for each processed file.  The customer can retrieve this PDF file from an FTP website and retain it for their records.

Fees you may encounter include:

  • Initial Programming/Set-up
  • Fee per job

Branding with Newsletters

Are you looking for a branding strategy for your company?  Mailing card mailers, postcards, invoice printing, and statement printing is a great way to stay in touch with past customers and increase sales, but you might need to do more to help brand your company.

In the blog entitled, “How to Write an Effective Newsletter,” Lynne says that mailing newsletters can help you do this.  According to Lynne, “Both newsletter printing and booklet printing are also effective in sharing your company’s values with your customers. This is more a subtle marketing technique not specifically selling but more creating the underpinnings to your brand. When a customer gets to know your company and what it is about, then an affinity to the associated brand begins to accrue.”
