What does CASS Certification Mean and How is it Helpful?

If you’re looking into outsourcing your print and mail needs, you might be asking yourself, “What does “CASS certification” mean and how is it beneficial to me?”

CASS certification is a certification system for software systems that process mailing lists. When choosing a vendor to process your mail, you want to make sure they are CASS certified. Why? Well, there are lots of reasons. For starters, when your mail is processed through CASS, you obtain bulk mail discounts from USPS and your mail is delivered faster.

Below are a bunch of other reasons why processing your mail through CASS certification software is beneficial:

  • CASS certified software standardizes your mailing addresses. For example, “Street” will be changed to the abbreviation, “ST.” These changes are needed to meet the expectations of the USPS.
  • CASS certified software corrects your addresses. If there are misspelled addresses or if any information is missing, you cannot receive discounts. So, CASS corrects any misspelled addresses and adds any additional information that is helpful. Added information may include zip code + 4 code, Carrier Route, or Delivery Point Bar Code.
  • CASS certified software updates addresses. For example, many older addresses have been updated with a more standard style of address and CASS will update them.
  • CASS certified software will perform address verification last. This means that the corrected addresses will be compared with a list that the USPS considers to be valid and up-to-date. It helps to confirm your mail can and will be delivered.

Choosing a vendor who uses CASS certified software is a smart decision. For more information, click here.

The Benefits of Online Printing Services

Are you feeling overwhelmed by the costs of printing marketing materials such as invoice printing, statement printing, postcards, and card mailers?  If you’re one of the many people whose marketing budgets have been cut, you might want to look into partnering with an online digital printing service.

In a blog on Upstart Agent: Real Estate Marketing Blog, entitled “Are You Using Online Printing?” the author talks about the benefits of partnering with an online printing service.  While discussing the costs of printing marketing materials, an agent asked the author if there was any way to save money on such services.  The author says, “It didn’t dawn on me until now that he was unaware that he could take advantage of online printing services and probably do it for considerably less than he is paying me now to design his marketing materials and have them printed at the local print shop.”

Online digital printing services can help you save both time and money.  Make sure you research companies before selecting one.

Disaster Recovery

Disaster Recovery refers to the process and practices a printer has in place to ensure your pieces are mailed without problems.  Trust me when I say that price will go out the window if you end up with an unprepared printer.

It’s important that your print and mail house provide redundant systems for many processes, which means your mission-critical mailings will have an alternative print and mail backup in the event of power or equipment failure.

Below are a few of the components that make up Triadex Services’ Disaster Recovery plan:

Electrical Power

In the unlikely event of a power failure, Triadex Services’ power systems are designed to run uninterrupted. They have dedicated electrical service into dual, 300kVA UPS systems, which are backed up by a 600kVA diesel generator. All systems are regularly maintained and tested.

HVAC and Mechanical Systems

Inside the Data Center, we take every precaution to assure the safety of our managed or co-located servers, including redundant HVAC units with humidity control. Room temperature is maintained at 70 degrees, with 55% humidity and monitored 24/7 by the NOC.

Fire Protection

Our Data Center is equipped with a Fenwal laser-based high sensitivity smoke and heat        detection system, and a pre-action water-based fire suppression system.

Power Failures

All critical computers are connected to Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) which protect them from power surges as well as brownouts and outages.  In the event normal power will not be restored within 12 hours, we have contracted with Caterpillar to furnish XQ60 Diesel Generators that are capable of maintaining full power of all production operations (includes computer functions, printing functions, inserting and sorting functions, utilities, etc.) for an unrestricted  amount of time until normal power is restored.  The generators are guaranteed to be operational within one hour of notifying Caterpillar.
